Intertek to Offer Educational Sessions on Global Supply, Quality and Compliance as Part of New York City’s World Trade Week

Intertek (www.intertek.com/rohs) will host seminars in association with the World Trade Week - New York City event occurring May 19-23, 2008. The free seminars, to be held at the Manhattan (SIBL) branch of the New York Public Library and Flushing Community Library, are set to address specific concerns of manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, importers and exporters facing the challenges presented by the global marketplace; and will include challenges presented by REACH; compliance with global legislation (including RoHS, WEEE, China RoHS, Korea RoHS, CE Marking and California Proposition 65, among others); logistics solutions; food quality, safety and supply; and general challenges presented by global supply chain management.

Speakers include top executives from each Intertek division, with extensive experience in helping clients from virtually every industry to assess their products and commodities against a wide range of safety, regulatory, quality and performance standards.   • How REACH Can Impact Manufacturers and Supply Chains (Monday, May 19, 6-7 pm, Flushing Community Library)

    The EU’s REACH regulation, also known as the chemical regulation, requires manufacturers and suppliers of chemical products and articles to be familiar with and able to provide detailed information on the health and environmental impacts of their products. Between June 1 and December 1, 2008, companies will be required to pre-register their products with the European Chemical Association (ECHA) in order to preserve their market access to the EU. Join us to learn the requirements of the REACH regulation and its impact on your products.
